Richard V. Prouty, 86, formerly ofCanisteo passed away Friday (April 27, 2007) at the Homestead Nursing Home in Penn Yan.
Born in Galeton,PA., November 17, 1920, the son of Nathanieland Mildred Baker Prouty, he had resided in Canisteoduring his early life. He later resided in Canandaigua and Newark and was a graduate of Canisteo Central School. Dick served his country as a member of theUnited States Army during WW-2 from1942-1945.
He was predeceased by his wife- Rae Barbara Prouty, his sister, Eloise Purdy and 2brothers, Vernonand Robert Prouty.
He is survived by 2daughters- Melody (William) Wigent of North Crolina, Dawn (John) Boeckmann of Newark, 2 sons, Ralph ProutyKlick of Phelps and Joseph R. Prouty,2 sisters, Virginia Klick of Newark and Mildred"Betty" Prouty of Canisteo, 1 brother- James (Esther)Prouty of Dansville, 9 grandchildren, nieces andnephews.
