43 North Hornell St., passed away Tuesday evening (November 28, 2006) at his home.
Born, June8, 1957, a son of Richard and Patricia Evans Porter, Dick had beena life long resident of the area.
He was a graduate of Canisteo High School,class of 1975, and received his associate's degree from Alfred StateCollage.
Richard served his country from 1975-1979 in the U.S. Navy.
He was employed as an upholsterer for Gunlockein Wayland
He is survived by, one daughter: Nichole (Jeff Northup)Porter of Seattle Washington
2 Sons: Jamie Porter of Alfred and Kyle Porter of Hawaii
His Mother: Patricia Porter of Canisteo.
1 Aunt, 2 Uncles and cousins.
His brother James Porter passed away in 1991 and his fatherRichard E Porter Sr. in 1999.
The family will be present to receive friends at the Bender- Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell, Monday ( Dec. 4,2006) from 2-4PM and 7-9 PM , Where funeralservices will be held on Tuesday ( Dec.5, 2006 ) at 1:00PM with the Rev. MathewSassano officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canisteo,with military honors.
