Richard L. "Dick" Moore,69, of 2640 Main Street, passed awayFriday (June 15, 2007) surrounded by his loving family at his homefollowing a long illness.



Born in Hornell, September 9, 1937, the sonof William and Florence Sherman Moore,he had resided in Greenwoodhis entire life. He attended Greenwood Central School,and served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corp for 1956 to1958. He had been employed as a welderat the Air Preheater in Wellsville retiring in 1999 after 38 years of service.



Dick was a member of the Greenwood and Canisteo American Legion Post. Dickwill be remembered as a wonderful husband, loving father, a caring brother, anda very special grandfather.



He was predeceased by his parents, 2 sisters, Mae Rose Mooreand Shirley Bettinger, as well as his brother, William Moore.



He is survived by his wife, Betty Ordiway Moore whom hemarried on April 21, 1960, 3 daughters, Kimberlee Moore of Greenwood, Melinda(Bill) Weakland of Canisteo, Sharon "Sherry" (Bob) Charles of Greenwood, 3sons, Richard "Mike" Moore of Greenwood, Thomas "Pat" (Misty) Moore ofTroupsburg and Marty Moore of Rexville, 3 sisters, Elaine Baker of Hornell,Joanne (Terry) Carpenter of Texas, Kay (Val) Fenti of Canandaigua, 4 brothers,Robert "Bob" Moore of Addison, Glenn (Cindy) Moore of Ontario, Gary (Carol)Clark of Almond and Thomas (Theresa) Moore of Greenwood, 16 grandchildren,several nieces & nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends from 4PM to 8PM Monday at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home,

6 Spruce St., Canisteo. Family and friends are invited to attend agraveside service with military honors at the Greenwood Cemetery on Tuesday at 11:00 AM, Rev. Donald Maynard officiating.
