Richard D. Maine, 71, of 4424 State Rt. 36, passed away Sunday (March 16, 2008) at St. James Hospital.
Born in North Hornell, NY, April 6, 1936, a son of Haroldand Doris Richardson Maine, Dick was alife long resident of the Canisteo, area.
Dick was a graduate of Canisteo Central School, class of 1955 andattended Oswegocollage.
He had been employed by Mason Campbell's auto body shop andretired in 1991 after 25 years as an auto body instructor for BOCES WildwoodCampus in Hornell.
After Dick retired from BOCES he worked for Southern TierExpress till 2003.
On Nov.15 1958 Dick married Arlene Evans Maine who survives.
Dick was a member ofthe 10 towns snowmobile club.
Dick will be remembered for his love of the outdoors,spending time with his family and being a loving husband, father andgrandfather, and he especially enjoyed early morning coffee with the guys.
He was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Doris Maine.
He is survived by his wife Arlene, one daughter: Debra(Terry) Vallieresof Guys Mills, PA, one son: Kevin (Kathyron) Maine ofCanisteo, 2 Grand Sons:, Christopher and,Mitchell Vallieres.
One brother: Dale ( Nancy)Maine of Canisteo, several nieces, nephews and cousins

The family will be present to receive friends from 2-4 &6-8PM Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 6Spruce St., Canisteo, where Funeral services will be held at the conclusion ofcalling hours at 8:00PM , with, Rev. Raymond Shaw officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery,Canisteo.
