Richard L. Harrington, 75, of 86 Brooklyn Street, passed away Wednesday (September 7, 2016) at Olean General Hospital.
Born in Oramel, November 26, 1940, the son of Edward and Lorma (VanBuskirk) Harrington, he was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Angelica Central School, and then enlisting in the US Navy serving from 1961-1965. He was retired from Argentieri Bros. in Wellsville, New York. Richard was a member of the Rochester Laborer's Local Union #435, and was also a member of the American Legion Post # 414 in Angelica. His hobbies included mowing grass, and everything NASCAR.
He was predeceased by his father.
He is survived by his wife Patsy Burr Harrington whom he married August 5, 1985, his mother Lorma Harrington of Angelica, his daughters Wendy (Mark) Roboski of Angelica, Holly Harrington of Angelica, his son Richard Harrington II of Angelica, step daughters Nadine (Norman) Henry of VA, Melonie Woodworth of Belfast, step son Blaine Reszczenski of VA, brothers Paul (Janet) Harrington of Angelica, and John "Jack" (Nancy) Harrington of Angelica, 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will be present on Friday, September 9, 2016, at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 101 West Avenue Angelica from 7-9pm and Saturday September 10, 2016 from 9am-12pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM, with Deacon Joseph Pasquella officiating. Burial will be in Until the Day Dawn Cemetery with Military Honors.
