Richard F. Davis, 85, of 50 Depot Street, passed away Thursday (October 8, 2015) at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Hornell, September 20, 1930, the son of Richard F. Davis Sr. and Gertrude Miller Davis , he had resided several years in Ithaca and the rest of his life in Hartsville and Canisteo.
Dick served his country as a member of the United States Army and had been employed at the former Newark Milk and Cream Company in Canisteo. Later he was employed as a bulk tank driver for Keith Paddock in Jasper and Bugman's & Son in Dalton,
He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, Beverly Martin and Patricia Terwilliger, three brothers, Raymond, Neil and Robert Davis, as well as his grandson, Jason Davis, and three Great Grandsons; Lucas, Zachary and Xavier Davis.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Carney Davis to whom he was married on May 14, 1950, two daughters, Christine Quigley of Canisteo and Michelle Maganellas of Clyde, four sons, Michael (Bonnie) Davis, Thomas (Jeanne) Davis, Bradley (Britteny) Davis and Christopher Davis all of Canisteo, four sisters, Betty Crandall of Wayne, Virginia Newton and Sandra Calton both of Buffalo, Joan (David) Woodworth of Canisteo, four brothers, Donald (Barbara) Davis and Edward (Joanne) Davis both of Cameron, David (Carol) Davis and Douglas (Peggy) Davis both of Canisteo, 16 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce St., Canisteo on Monday from 1 PM until 3 PM where Funeral services will following calling hours at 3 PM. Rev. Donald Maynard will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canisteo,.
