Richard A. Brooks, 90, of 7760 Ricks Road, passed away Saturday (March 11, 2017) at his home.
Born in Hornell, June 24, 1926, the son of Horton A. and Elizabeth Kocher Brooks, he had resided in the Hornell area all his life.
Dick had worked nearly all his life in the grocery business. He was employed at the former Long's Grocery in Hornell, the former Nu Way Grocery, the Market Basket, and the ACME Market all in Hornell. He was a longtime member of the Congregation of Johovah's Witnesses.
He was predeceased by his parents, his sister; Lillian Greenfield, and two brothers; Jack and Harold Brooks.
He is survived by his wife, Alberta Wray Brooks to whom he was married on February 13, 1949, his daughter Stacey Brooks and two grandsons; Drew Golden and Dakota Golden, nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Wednesday (March 15, 2017) at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Canisteo. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery, Hornell.
