Rheubena Knapp, 97, of 11 Fifth Street, passed away with dignity and peace, the same way she lived her life, on Saturday (April 20, 2013) at the Advent House in Fairport.
Born in Hornell, October 4, 1915, the daughter of Sylvester and Annabell Gardner Potter, she had resided in Canisteo since 1946. She was a graduate of the former Hornell Business School and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Canisteo. She had been employed at the Former Peck Motor Sales, Hornell Wholesale , the Former Bethesda Community Hospital, and the former Big N of Hornell. Rheubena enjoyed Cooking, gardening, tending her roses, reading, crossword puzzles and ceramics. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and had visited all but 4 states. Rheubena was truly loved by all who knew her.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Daryl in 2005, as well as her sisters, Verbena Bell and Charlotte Potter, and her brother, Robert Potter.
She is survived by her children, Daryl (Mary Lou) Knapp of Henrietta, James (Lois) Knapp of Victor, Steven (Patricia) Knapp of Canisteo and Irene (Ted) Glass of Florida. 12 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.

There will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce Street in Canisteo, on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 6pm. Deacon Dick Lombard will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Canisteo.
