Raymond C. Taylor, Sr.



Ray Taylor, 69, a long-time resident of Angelica NY, passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 17, 2018. He was born in Machias, NY on July 17, 1949 to the late Glenn Taylor and Lillian Enderle. On December 9, 1989 he married Rosalie Kemp Prentice, who survives.

Ray graduated from Friendship Central School in 1969. In his senior year he was the President of the Future Farmers of America local chapter. He was a member of Inavale Grange #1248. He served in the US Army from 1969-1972 and was honorably discharged. He worked for Macler Industries, Foster Wheeler and Cutco before retiring due to health issues. While working at Foster Wheeler he met his best friend Stevie Wray which was an enduring friendship that meant so much to him.

Ray loved watching game shows while holding hands with his wife in side by side recliners. He also enjoyed watching his favorite sports teams; the Buffalo Sabres and the Buffalo Bills.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are his children: Tracy (Ed) Trunko, Amy (Ken) Wetherby and Ray "Spunk" (Jennifer) Taylor, Jr; his stepchildren: James (Cathy) Prentice and Lisa Prentice; his several grandchildren and great grandchildren; his siblings: Allan (Carol) Taylor, Stephen (Sandra) Taylor, Lois (Gary) Fancher and Sue Taylor; his sister-in-law Margaret Taylor and many nieces and nephews.

Ray was predeceased by his parents, his granddaughters Kathleen and Autumn and his brothers Glenn and David.

Memorial Service will be on Saturday (May 4, 2019) at 1:00pm at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home in Angelica.
