Raymond E Decker, 89, of 5713 Tuckers Corner Road, passed away Wednesday (December 8, 2010) at his home.
Born in New Florence, PA, May 24, 1921, the son of John Amann and Maude Marie Decker, he was a lifelong area resident. In his early years Raymond was a farmer, and later went to work and retiring from Cold Spring Construction Company, where he had held many different responsibilities including his favorite job blacktopping. Raymond enjoyed gardening, horses, his dog "Mickey", but most of all his family. He was a well rounded determined man who set his mind on something and accomplished it.
He was predeceased by his wife Mary Crandall Decker on January 28, 2006, whom he married February 8, 1941, and was also predeceased by his half brother Jim Faradas, and his step grandson Christopher Blossom..
He is survived by his daughters Caroline Causer of Alabama, Barbara (Harry) Blossom of Scio, his son Gerald Decker of Scio, grandchildren George, Raymond, Lawrence and William Causer, Mary Jo Venable, Joe, Jamie, Valarie and Stephen Decker, Tami McClintock, Jennifer Hunt, and Anthony Blossom, great grandchildren Kristin, Dustin, and Danielle Hunt, Anasstasia McClintock, Sebastian Decker, Bradley, Lee and Cameron Causer, Kristi, Heather, and Crystal Venable, Kayla Causer, Kayla, and Aaron Blossom, 2 great great grandchildren.
The family will be present 1-3 & 6-8 PM Sunday, December 12, 2010, at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 101 West Ave., Angelica, where Funeral services will be held on Monday, at 11:30 AM, with the Rev. Tim Middleton officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Hill Cemetery, Belmont.
