Raymond D. Champlin, age 87, of Terbury Road, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, at Elderwood Nursing Home.

Raymond was born in North Hornell on January 22, 1938, the son of Reed D. Champlin and Lottie Terribury Champlin, and was a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Alfred Almond Central School.

Raymond was retired from the Town of Alfred Highway Department, where he had worked as a heavy equipment operator. He also worked for Allegany County Highway Department for several Years. Raymond had been a part-time farmer his entire life. He enjoyed restoring Allis Chalmers tractors, hunting, and the outdoors.

He was predeceased by his parents, and his sister Arlene Roberts, and brother Dale Champlin.

He is survived by his daughter Corinne (Brian) Harrison of South Carolina, his son Randy Champlin of Alfred Station, his brother Verge Champlin, and nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service for Raymond will be held in the spring at Maplewood Cemetery in Alfred Station.

Funeral arrangements are with the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home in Hornell.
