Ray E. Silsbee, 82, FormerlyOf 4 South Elm Street, passed awaySaturday (November 8,2008) at St. James Hospital.



Born in Canisteo,April 25, 1926, the son of Raymond B and Cecile Stewart Silsbee,he had resided in Cameron his early life, but in Canisteo most of his adult life. He hadserved his country as a member of the United States Navy during WW-2. He wasemployed as a plumber for the former Erieand Erie Lakawanna Railroad prior to his retirement .



He was predeceased by his parents and one sister, EdithMcCarthy.



He is survived by his wife, Doris Loper Silsbee, whom hemarried October 12, 1947, his daughter, Kathy (Gary) Stewart of Canisteo, hisson, Dr. Michael Silsbee of Pittsburg, PA., his sister, Carol (Craig) Andrewsof Virginia, his brother, Donald (Lucille) Silsbee of Bath, 2 grandchildren, Corrie(Patrick) Crook and Eric (Annie) Stewart, 3 great grandchildren, Zaida andAmylia Stewart, Gillian Crook, and a 4th great grandchild due to beborn later this month.

There will be no calling hours. Family and friends areinvited to attend a Memorial Service at the Buena Vista Wesleyan Church on Tuesday at 11:00 AM. Rev. Daniel Pickering and Rev. EdwardCrandall will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery,Canisteo. A reception will follow theMemorial Service at the Church.
