Randall VanAllen

Randall (Randy) VanAllen, 74, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at Strong Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Randy was born in North Hornell, NY on December 24, 1949 to William and Ella (Morse) VanAllen.
Randy was a graduate of Canisteo Central School in 1969. He retired from the NYS Carpenters Union, taking pride in many of the school district capital projects in the area. An avid outdoorsman, Randy loved hunting and fishing. He also had an enthusiasm for classic cars and NASCAR. What he enjoyed the most was spending time with his family and pets.
Randy is survived by three daughters, Dawn (Brian) DuBois, Julie (Gary) Smith and Katie Hurd; nine grandchildren: Tyler, Diana and Brandon Smith, Jazmyn (Mitchell) DuBois, Jozlyn DuBois, Adam (Ian) DuBois, Heather (Joe) Hadsell, Allie Hurd (Aiden Clair), and Noah Hurd; two great grandchildren: Oakland Clair and Lilliana Entsuah; one sister, Ellen (Tex) Partridge, one sister-in-law, Cindy VanAllen, and two brothers, Steve VanAllen and Rob Morse; several nieces, nephews and cousins, and special friends and family Angela VanAllen, Peggy VanAllen, Brett Hurd, Mike Wallace and Mike Warren.
In addition to his parents, Randy is predeceased by his older brother Mike VanAllen and nephew Mike VanAllen.
There will be a time of visitation on Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 4-6pm at Brown and Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce St. in Canisteo, NY, with a memorial service immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Randy’s name may be made to the Hornell Area Humane Society
