Phyllis E. Slaght, 74, of
2 Linwood Ave., passed away Wednesday (September 24, 2008) at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville.
Born in Hornell, July 8, 1934, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Kaiser Nary,she had resided in Hornell all her life. She was a graduate of Hornell High School, Class of 1953, and had beenemployed at the former Westinghouse Plant in Bath, prior to becoming a cook at the Hornell Gardens where she was employed for 30years. Phyllis was an avid New York Yankees fan and enjoyed bowling, playingbingo, and visiting the casinos. She especially enjoyed attending sportsactivities that her grandchildren were involved in.
She was predeceased by her infant daughter, her husbandRobert Slaght, her sister Geraldine Naryand her brother, Jack Nary.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Donna (Richard) Bacon ofHornell and Linda (Michael) Barnes of Andover, 3 sons, Michael Slaght ofHornell, Raymond (Val) Slaght of North Hornell, and Jay (Ellen) Slaght of Hornell,her sister, Elizabeth "Libby" Schwartz of Greenwood, and 4 brothers, Bob (Judy)Nary of Hornell, George (Bertie) Nary of Wyoming, Joseph "Bill" (Jean) Nary ofSalamanca, and Richard "Dick" Nary of California, 10 grandchildren, John(Mindi) Bacon, Steve Bacon, Joe (Melissa) Bacon, Amanda Barnes, Shelley Barnes,Susan Slaght, Brandon, Ryan ,Jake and Angela Slaght,7 great grandchildren,nieces & nephews,
