Paul B. "Mac" McDaniels,82, of

31 Maple Street,has passed through this life with a tremendous pride in each step of theway. Mac's dedication to his community,pride in his country, and love for hisfamily will never be matched by another.He touched many lives during his time with us and each touch was one oflove, strength and a genuine caring for everyone. As he passed on into the Lord's hands onSunday (July 10, 2005)he was surrounded by his loving wife, children and grandchildren.Mac was predeceased by his parents and one sister, PhyllisMcDaniels.

Mac graduated from Hornell High Schoolin 1941 and joined the U.S. Marines in Jaunary of 1942 during World War II ,and attended Officer Training School at Cornell University and Intelligence OfficerTraining in Quantico, VA.Soon after, Mac married the love of his life, Joyce Stewartof Canisteo, a marriage and love that spanned 59 years and was still evident inhis eyes as he closed them for the last time.Mac and Joyce enjoyed their life in the Marines, but returned toCanisteo to raise their family, a move that benefited the entire Canisteo Valley.McDaniels Dental Lab was started in 1949 along with a family of fivechildren including, Paul D. McDaniels "P.D." and his wife Ann of Arkport,Jeffrey L. McDaniels and his wife Diane of Oneonta, Connie M. Cole and herhusband Skip of Canisteo, Michael J. McDaniels and his wife Liz of Hornell, andThomas McDaniels and his wife Colleen of Hornell. There are 16 grandchildren including LaurieMcDaniels, Jody McDaniels, John McDaniels, Bryan Squires, Toni Lee McDaniels,Theresa McDaniels, Jennifer Cole, Mark Cole, Melissa Weakland, MeshionMcDaniels, Corinne McDaniels, Chere Scott, Colin McDaniels, Mackayla McDaniels,Mackenzie McDaniels, Erin Robinson, 9 great grandchildren including, EmilyCasterline, Tom Casterline, Jett Casterline, Caleb Squires, Kenadie Cole,MacKenna Weakland, Brett Weakland, Kaeden Weakland and Emma Schmitt; brother Everett McDaniels and his wife Hazelof Ohio, sister-in-law, Dorothy Roe of Hornell, fellow marines and numerousnieces and nephews , all of whom had a special place in this man's heart andall heard the words " Luv, Luv,Luv"!

Mac was a family man but also had time for his friends and community. An avid golfer, member of the snowmobileclub, boating and motorcycle enthusiast, member of the Canisteo AmericanLegion, Elks Club, one of the original founders of the Canisteo Little League,past president of the Canisteo Fire Company, past president of the CanisteoRepublican Club, Canisteo Village Clerk for 15 years, Canisteo School busdriver for 32 years, proud member of the U.S. Marine Corp for 19 years, servingas a Captain and strong supporter of Canisteo High School Athletics and squad busdriver. He gave his best and generationshave benefited from his involvement in this Valley.

The family will be present to receive friends on Wednesdayfrom 2-4 and 7-9 PM at theBROWN & POWERS FUNERAL HOME.

6Spruce Street Canisteo. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday at the FirstPresbyterian Church, 10 South MainStreet, Canisteo, NY with Rev. Todd Haines Officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Canisteo.
