Paul A. Graham, 96, of Grand Street, passed away peacefully on Saturday (August 25, 2018) at the Bath VAMC.
Born in Hornell, May 18, 1922, the son of Harry and MaBelle (Skinner) Graham, he was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Hornell High School "Class of 1940". In 1942 he enlisted in the Army Air Force and served during World War II until 1945. Paul was retired after 40 years, from the Hornell Evening Tribune, where he was a machinist and Press Room Supervisor. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Hornell, and the former Spencer United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #440, active in the Boy Scouts, and the former Masonic Lodge #44. Paul was an avid walker, golfer, a skilled woodworking craftsman, however his true passion was family.
He was predeceased by his parents, a daughter Christine Graham-Watt, 2 sons Paul and Gary Graham, 2 sisters Louise Pederson, Vesta Jean Thompson, and 4 brothers Donald, Gordon, Roy, and Jack Graham.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years Marjorie Knights Graham, who he married on June 16, 1946, his 2 daughters Jennifer Bush of Hornell, Paula Graham of Rochester, 3 sons Steven Graham of Hornell, Timothy (Yvonne) Graham of Glens Falls, Jeffrey Graham of MD, his son in law Richard (Sylvia) Watt of NC, 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will be present 3-6PM Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo Street in Hornell, where funeral services and military honors will be held at 6:00 PM, with Rev. Lenny Fuller officiating. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery in Hornell.
