Patricia W. Hulse, 77, of 575 County Rte. 66, passed away Monday (May 2, 2016) at the Hornell Gardens.
Born in North Hornell, September 23, 1938, the daughter of Guy and Phyllis (Ferry) Washburn, she was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Alfred-Almond Central School "Class of 1956", and had attended the Hornell Business School. She had been employed as a secretary for the Erie Railroad, and for the Robertson Funeral Home, and was a member of the D.A.R., Hornell Eastern Star, and the Almond Historical Society. Pat enjoyed handwork, such as knitting sweaters, mittens, and hats for family and friends. She also enjoyed crochet crafts, gardening, and was often referred to as the "Cat Lady".
Pat spent many years preparing the family histories, for the Washburn, Stearn, Robertson, Thompson and Hulse families. She was also instrumental in researching the Ferry family Genealogy, authored by Edward Ferry, of which she donated a copy of this book to the Almond Historical Society in her son Allen Robertson's name.
She was predeceased by her parents, 2 brothers Roger & Richard Washburn, as well as her sister in law Betty Washburn.
She is survived by her husband Leo V. Hulse, whom she married on September 29, 1984, her son Allen (Judy) Robertson of Hamburg, 3 step daughters Pamela (Scott) Clark of Arkport, Denise (Tom) Tychi of Hornell, Teri Lynn (Jeff) Schwartz of Hornell, her sisters Pamela Jean Brutsman of Hornell, 3 brothers Don (Sandra) Washburn of Almond, Guy Washburn Jr. of Almond, and Phil Washburn of Almond, her 2 grandsons Nate & Zach Robertson of Hamburg, as well as 7 other grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday (May 7 2016) at 11:00am at the Almond Union of Churches, with Rev. Michelle Serra officiating. Burial will be at Almond Woodlawn Cemetery.
