Oletha Florence Drumm Whitney,79, of , 1190 Webbs Crossing Road,died peacefully Wednesday morning (April 19, 2006) at theHornell Gardens Nursing Home after an extended illness.
Born on HartsvilleHill, October 9, 1926, the daughter of Herman and Anna ClarkDrumm, she had resided many yearsin Lambertville, New Jersey.She retired from RCA, and returned to Hornell. Oletha hadpresently been staying with her daughter and son-in-law, Bevand Hans in Dayton, Ohio, before this last visit back home. Oletha was a memberof the Hornell Bible Church. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, doing crafts and music. She will be sadly missed.
She was predeceased byher beloved husband, Robert Whitney Sr.,infant twin son and daughter, parents, 4 brothers, Harold, Ralph, Robert, andGlenn Drumm, 2 sisters, Bernadine Bertram andVirginia Whitney, brother-in-law, James Whitney.
She is survived by hersister, Helen Drumm of Hornell, two daughters:Beverly (Hans) Gilen of Dayton, Ohio, Sharon (George) Donahue of Seattle Washington, two sons: Robert Whitney Jr. of Hornell, Rick(Phyllis) Whitney of Dickson, TN.,grandchildren, Chae, Chat, and Dylan Donahue of Colorado, Rachel Whitney ofLambertville, NJ, Tondra (Nick) Cornett of Springboro, Ohio. Great Grandchildren, Chloe and Jacob Cornettof Springboro, Ohio, special nieces Dot (John) Conner andPat (Jack) Gioia, several nieces & nephews.
The family will be present from 4 PMto 6 PM Friday at the Bender -Brown & Powers Funeral Home,
354 Canisteo St.,Hornell. where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM, Rev. Donato Delia officiating. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery,Hornell.
