Nettie B. Kryger,89, formerly of Arkport & Waverly, passed away peacefully with her daughterand granddaughter by her side, Thursday (December 4, 2008) at McAuley Manor.
Born in Greene,NY, October 22, 1919, the daughter of Earl and PearlRussell Howell, she had been a 60 year resident of the Waverly area, beforemoving with her daughter Pearlin Arkport. Nettie married Clarence Kryger on March22, 1937, who predeceased her in 1998. She had been a member of the Nazarene Church in Waverly, and had worked forvarious hospitals, including Robert Packer Hospitalfrom 1957-62, St Joseph'sHospital from 1962-68, and Arnot Ogden from1968-1980. Nettie was an avid Yankee fan, enjoyedbowling, loved pets and word puzzles.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Clarence of61 years, a son Ricky Clarence Kryger in 1955, 2sisters, and 2 brothers.
She is survived by 3 daughters Pearl (Charles) Holbrook ofArkport, Shirley (Joe) Lopreste of Waverly, Phyllis(Ron) Bennett of Carlisle, a son Roger (Judy) Krygerof West Virginia, 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren.
The family was present 1-2PM Saturday, December 6, 2008, atthe Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell, whereFuneral services were held at 2:00 PM, her grandson Rev. Michael Holbrookofficiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Waverly.
