Nancy L. Kennedy, 75, passed away Wednesday (June 22, 2016) at the Hornell Gardens with her daughter by her side.
Born in Hornell, December 10, 1940, the daughter of John and Marguerite Englert Remchuk, she had resided in Hornell all her life. She was a graduate of Hornell High School, Class of 1958. Nancy had been employed for the Hornell City School District, Conrail, and later as an account clerk for District 6 Federal Credit Union in Hornell. She was a Life Member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hornell VFW. She was a member of Our Lady of The Valley Parish and a communicant of St. Ann's Church in Hornell.
Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, Keuka Lake, reading traveling and playing cards.
She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Wanda Remchuk and her brother John Remchuk.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan B. Kennedy (Steven Hurlburt) of Hornell, and her son, Thomas J. (Tammy) Kennedy of California, three sisters; Cynthia (Robert) Reid of Arizona, Linda (William) Cole of Arizona, and Karen (Ronald) Leach of Illinois, two brothers; William (Michelle) Remchuk of Hornell and Ronald Remchuk of Florida, three grandchildren, Nicole Kennedy-Sekoll, McKenna and Holden Kennedy, nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the Hornell Gardens, first floor staff and nursing staff, Melissa McKee, and Jerry Brown for their care and compassion for our mother.

The family will be present to receive friends on Thursday, June 30, 2016, from 1 -3 PM and 5-7 PM at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo Street, Hornell. Funeral services will follow calling hours at 7:00 PM with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Heritage Hill Cemetery, Arkport.
