Nancy L. Woolever, 79, of Sutherby Avenue, passed away peacefully Saturday (March 10, 2018) at Strong Memorial Hospital.
Born in North Hornell at Bethesda Hospital, June 3, 1938, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Galusha) Conner, she was a lifelong area resident. After graduating from Hornell High School, she attended the Comptometer School in Olean, NY and thereafter worked at the Erie Railroad Accounting Bureau as a comptometer operator. On February 15, 1958, she married Gerald E. Woolever and, for 2 years lived in Boston, while he served in the U.S. Coast Guard. They moved back to Hornell to raise their family. Nancy retired from Steuben Trust Company, where she worked first in the computer department, and then in the loan department until her retirement. She enjoyed cooking, baking, working on puzzles and tending to her flower garden. Nancy's true passion was her family, and loved to spend as much time with them as she could.
She was predeceased by her parents, 2 brothers Charles and Richard Conner, and an infant sister Patty Conner.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years Gerald E. Woolever, her son David (Donna) Woolever of Hornell, her daughter Cheryl (Gary) Kelleher of Hornell, grandchildren Jennifer (Chris) Coons, David (Marieka) Woolever, Rachael Woolever, Gary P. Kelleher, Kristen (Jason) Baldwin, great grandchildren Benjamin Woolever, and Abigail Woolever, her sisters Jane Wood, and Linda Conner, her sister in law Jacque Conner, as well as several nieces, and nephews.
The family will be present 4-7pm Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo Street in Hornell, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM, with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery in Hornell.
