Muriel H. Woodworth, 85, of
45 Catherine Street, passed away Monday (March 17, 2008) at Rochester General Hospital.Born in Batavia,July 22, 1922,the daughter of Frank and Amelia Catlin Wilson, she had residedin Hornell most of her adult life. Shehad been employed as a waitress for the former Big Elms Restaurant and theHornell Country Club , and in later years was employed for the Steuben County Nursing Service. Murial was active in volunteer work including the HornellRed Cross and the Salvation Army. She was a member of the RebekahLodge #105 of Hornell.
She was predeceased by her husband, Herman Woodworth on Dec. 8, 2002
She is survived by her daughter, Paula (Ken) Smith ofCanisteo, 3 step-sons, Eugene, Roy and Herman Woodworth Jr., 8 grandchildrenand 12 great grandchildren.
The family will be present to receive friends from 7-9PM Thursday at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home,
354 Canisteo St, Hornellwhere the Rebekah Lodge will hold a memorial serviceat 8:30 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM, Rev. Dudley Jenkinsofficiating. Burial will be in Bath National Cemetery.
