Monnie I. Buono,91, of
6 Taylor Street,passed away Monday (November19, 2007) at Noyes Memorial Hospital.
Born in Troupsburg, July 7, 1916, the daughter of Willis and Cassie (Hulburt) Benton; she had resided in the Hornell area mostof her life. Monnie was Valedictorian of her class at Jasper Central School.She received her licensed practical nursing degree from the former Bethesda Community Hospital,where she was employed for several years She was a member of the First BaptistChurch of Hornell.
She was predeceased by her husband Charles in 1984, onesister Mavis Lewis and one brother Wayne Benton.
She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Serenoof Canisteo with whom she resided, one son, Robert Buonoof Rochesterand one brother Hugh Benton of Troupsburg, 10 grandchildren and 20 greatgrandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
The family will be present to receive friends from 2-4 &7-9 on Saturday November 24 at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home,
6 Spruce St., Canisteo,where funeral services will be held Sunday November 25 at 2PM. Rev. MichaelChilds will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, TroupsburgNY.
