Milo C. Manhart, 94, formerly of 968 State Route 21, passed away Thursday (May 19, 2016) at Jones Memorial Hospital.



Born in Hornell, August 27, 1921, the son of Milo and Marjorie (DeGroff) Manhart, he was a lifelong area resident. Milo was retired in 1982 from the NYSDOT in Hornell, where he was labor supervisor. He was a veteran of the US Army during World War II, serving from 1942-1945, earning many medals.



He was predeceased by his wives Shirley Manhart in 1988, and Arlowine Manhart in 2012, his son James Manhart in 2016, 2 brothers Raymond and Robert Manhart, and his sister Delores Wing.



He is survived by his daughters Joanne (Donald) Kenyon of SC, 3 sons John (Mabel) Manhart of Hornell, William Manhart of Syracuse, and Phillip Mahart of Hornell, his sister Barbara Manhart of Arkport, 2 step daughters Shirley (Fred) Groves of Canisteo, Lisa (John) Ebner of Canisteo, 2 step sons Russell (Lisa) Hadsell of Bath, Gary (Patty) Hadsell of Canisteo, several grand, great grand, and great great grandchildren. .



The family will be present on Monday (May 23, 2016) from 5-7pm at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell, where funeral services will be held at 7 pm, with Rev. Gary Miles officiating. Burial will be in Bath National Cemetery, with full Military Honors.
