Canaseraga
Mildred "Millie" L. Orgek, 89, formerly of 79 Main Street, passed away Saturday (February 11, 2017) at the Elderwood Nursing Home, in North Hornell.
Born in Nashville, TN, April 1, 1927, the daughter of John T. and Eva L. Hedgepath) Toler, she had resided in Canaseraga, since 1983. Millie was a member of St. Agatha's Roman Catholic Church in Buffalo, New York, and had attended St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Canaseraga, and also a member of the American Legion Post#1582 Ladies Auxillary in Canaseraga. She was known for being a very social person, and a beloved mother to all her family and numerous friends. Millie also liked to dance, tend flowers, watching for hummingbirds, and cardinals, occasionally taking a ride on a Harley Davidson motorcycle, and cooking perch with her dear friend Todd Herington. She met her husband William E. Orgek Jr. in a park in Buffalo on a chance meeting. They were married on January 14, 1960, and was predeceased by him on December 24, 1997. She was also predeceased by her parents.
She is survived by 3 daughters Karla (Duane Gates) Orgek of Canaseraga, Eleanor "Ellie" (Leonard Post) Stephens of Elma, and Jo Marie (Paul) Batt of Depew.
A graveside service will be at the Canaseraga Cemetery at 1:00pm on May 13, 2017, with Father John Cullen officiating. A celebration of her life will take place and the Canaseraga American Legion Post #1582 at 2:00pm immediately following the graveside.
