Michael S. Ayers Sr., 60, of Wheeler Hill Rd., passed away Friday (March 3, 2017).



Born in Jennersville , PA, August 5, 1956, a son of Donald B. and Ethel Delp Ayers, he had resided most of his life in Maryland coming to Greenwood about 12 years ago. Michael was a graduate of the Rising Sun High School. He was employed by Southern Tier Express in Andover, NY. On October 2, 1974 Michael married his soulmate Mary Lou Taylor and together they have celebrated 42 years of marriage. He enjoyed farming and hunting. Michael will be remembered most for the love that he had for his family, especially his grandchildren. He had a wonderful sense of humor, his eyes and smile could light up a room. Michael was the family "MacGyver" he could make anything.



He was predeceased by his mother Ethel Ayers, and a grandson Tyler Hess.



He is survived by his wife Mary Lou Ayers of Greenwood, 2 sons; Michael (Rachelle) Ayers Jr. and Walter (Lisa) Ayers both of Elkton, Maryland, 1 daughter; Christina (David Scott) Edwards of Rising Sun, Maryland, his father Donald Ayers of Rising Sun, Maryland, 1 brother; Donald (Sherry) Ayers Jr. of Rising Sun Maryland, 4 sisters; Mary (Bill) Parker of Pennsylvania, Susan Waterson of Lewis, Delaware, Heidi (Kevin) Gilmore of Lewis, Delaware and Fran (Kenny) Breen of Elkton, Maryland, 5 grandchildren, Dylan (Danielle Boyd) Edwards, Dustin Edwards, Devon Edwards, Kyle Ayers and Zachary Ayers, 1 great grandson Dylan "Festus" Edwards Jr. as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends on Tuesday (March 7, 2017) from 2-4PM at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce St. Canisteo. A memorial service will immediately follow calling hours at 4PM. The family will also be present to receive friends on Saturday (March 11, 2017) at the First Baptist Church of Elkton 607 Delaware Ave, Elkton, MD 21921, From 1-3PM. A memorial service will be held immediately following calling hours at 3PM with a reception to follow.
