Merle HuffJr. 76, of 70 Fulton Street, passed awaySunday (April 17, 2005) at his home.



Born in Hornell, January 16, 1929, the sonof Merle andDelia Myhers Huff Sr.,he had resided in Hornell nearly all his life.He was a graduate of Hornell High School, Class of1948 and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed in the meter department ofthe New York State Gas & Electric Corp. prior to his retirement in 1989. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ inHornell, and was active in the "Lets Dance Club" as well as a member of theExecutive Committee of the Club.



He was predeceased by his parents, one daughter, Mary Ann Huff, hissister, Helen Lawrence and his brother-in-law, Eldon "Pint " Dennis.



He is survived by his wife, Janice LoperHuff, whom he married April 11, 1954, one daughter, Cathy (Kirk) Walker ofDansville, one son, James Huff of Lockport. 2 sisters, Ruth (Philip) Harvey ofHornell and Arlene (William Johnson) Dennis of Hornell., one grand daughter, Nicole Walkerof Dansville, several nieces & nephews.



The family will be present to receive friends on Wednesdayfrom 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Bender-Brown& Powers Funeral Home, 354 CanisteoSt., Hornell where funeral serviceswill be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM, PastorDavid Hotchkiss officiating.Burial will be in Hornell Rural Cemetery.
