Greene Sr., 85 of Collier Street, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family and loved ones on Tuesday (Aug. 2, 2022) at St. James Hospital.           Born in Caneadea , NY, Aug 2, 1937, he was the son of Merton and Theresa Phillips Greene, and had resided in Arkport for 50 years before moving to Hornell. Melford was employed as a Warehouseman at Crowley Foods in Arkport prior to his retirement.           He was a member of the Hornell Moose Lodge and the Hornell Association and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Melford was married to the former Mary Tucker and together they enjoyed camping, traveling, bowling, bingo and visiting various casinos and worked as a team delivering meals on wheels.           He was predeceased by his parents, his wife of 61 years Mary Tucker Greene, his son, Melford D. (Bub) Greene Jr., his sister, Ellen (Skip) Sheroshick, and his brothers, George and Gordon Greene.           Surviving are his daughters, Patti (Jim) Green, Sandy (Aden) Ingalls and Karen (Ken) Lorow, his sister, Joan Palinkas, his brother, Jim (Norma) Greene, seven grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren,  and one great great grandson, several in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles as well as many dear friends.           To send a remembrance to the family, please visit: www.brownandpowersfuneralhomes.com or on Facebook@brownpowersfh.
