Maxine I. Bailey, 75, of
38 Russell St., passed away Saturday (April 18, 2009) at her home.
Born in Cameron, September 8, 1933, the daughter of Herbert D. and Ida Welch Thompson Sr., she had resided in Canisteonearly all her adult life. She was a graduate of the Canisteo Academyand had been employed for many years at the Beavers Pharmacy in Canisteo underthe ownership of the late Ed. Beaver. Maxine loved flowers, but will especiallybe remembered for her love of children and the great relationship she had withthem. In later years, her life centered around her grandchildren, and they willlong remember her for the influence she had in their lives.
She was predeceased by her parents,her husband, Henry LeoBailey in 2003, her brothers, EarlThompson and his wife Pauline, Merl Thompson and his wife Ruth, Herbert "Tink"Thompson Jr. and his wife Lorlene, Lyle "Pete" Thompson, as well as 2 infantbrothers, Richard and Harold Thompson.
She is survived by her children, Gary (Marcy Benson) Baileyof Hornell, Gale( Ira) Bailey-Hale of Canisteo and David (Justine Valentine)Bailey of Canisteo, her sisters, Hazel
O'Dell of Canisteo,and Helen (Albert) Subject of Cuba, Grandchildren, Gary (Tracy) Bailey Jr. ofHornell, David Ames, Devin Ames and Daltin Ames all of Canisteo, step-grandson,Justin Hale and his fiance´e, Melissa Spencer, great grandchildren, Zachary,Jacob, Courtney, and Gabrielle Bailey all of Hornell, several good and faithfulfriends including Carol Trowbridge of Canisteo, several nieces & nephews,including Kathleen Thompson of Canisteo who was especially helpful to herduring her illness.
