Max M. Kame, 73, formerly of 8160 Ingalls Road, passed away Monday (April 8, 2013) at McAuley Manor.



Born in Hornell, April 25, 1939, the son of Floyd and Elizabeth Kellogg Kame, he had resided in this area all his life. He was a graduate of Arkport Central School and had served his country as a member of the United States Navy from 1957-1962, serving aboard the Air Craft Carrier, the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt, during the Cuban Crisis at the Bay of Pigs. Max was an avid NASCAR fan, and Mark Martin was his favorite driver.



He was predeceased by his parents.



He is survived by his wife, Rita Aultman Kame, 2 daughters, Sharilyn (Michael) Yates of North Tonawanda, and Sandra Brutsman of Arkport, 2 sisters, Bonnie (Thurlow) Smith of Hornell and Nancy (Walter) Willard of Clifton Springs, 3 grandchildren, Rebecca (Mark) Dusablon of Prattsburgh, Anthony Yates of North Tonawanda and Amamda Yates of North Carolina, 2 great grandchildren, Dominic Aguglia and Landon White, Sister-in-law, Roberta Norton of Canisteo, brothers-in-law, Roger Aultman and Ronald (Polly Carbone) Aultman both of Canisteo, several nieces and nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell on Saturday (April 13, 2013) from 2 PM until 4 PM. Services will follow calling hours at 4 PM. Burial will be in Rogersville Forrest Lawn Cemetery, South Dansville.



Friends may make memorial contributions to: Fremont Volunteer Fire or Ambulance Corp.
