60 Irving Place,passed away unexpectedly Monday (March 29, 2004) at her home.
Born Mary Ellis in New York City, June 21, 1939, she later moved to Pennsylvania and had resided in Hornell since 1965. She had been employed at the former Marion RohrPlant in Hornell as well as the Italian Villa.She had worked as a waitress for several restaurants. She had attendedthe Canisteo Wesleyan Church.
She was predeceased byher brother- George Ellis, and her husband,LeRoy Smith on August 21, 2003.
She is survived by two daughters: Tina (Luther) Stevens of Hornell, and Marion (Donald) Colwell, of Susquehanna, PA.
three sons: William and Jeffery Graves of Binghamton
Ralph (Laurie) Pomeroy, of PA.
two sisters: Susanna (Kenneth) Gumaer, and Beatrice (Paul) Cook both of PA.

The family will be present to receive friends from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Thursday, at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St., Hornell. Funeral serviceswill be held at the Canisteo Wesleyan Churchon Friday at 11:00 AM with Rev. DonaldMaynard officiating. Burial willbe in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canisteo.
