Mary Ann LaShure, 63, of 10 Bennett Street, passed away Tuesday (March 8, 2011) at her home.



Born in Wiesbaden, Germany, December 18, 1947, the daughter of Roland and Tannie Manzari Ausborn, she had resided in Canisteo since September of 1970. Mary Ann was a graduate of Genoa High School in Genoa, NY, and received her Bachelors degree from the State University of New York at Fredonia, and her Masters degree from Alfred University. She had taught third grade in the Canisteo School District for 39 years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and a communicate of the former St. Joachims Church in Canisteo. Reflecting on her illness, Mary Ann was quoted as saying, "Screw this, Cancer Sucks".



She was predeceased by her parents.



She is survived by husband, Robert LaShure of Canisteo, 2 daughters, Marisa Ausborn LaShure of Canisteo and Charlene (Steve) Latona of Frewsburg, NY, 1 son, Robert W. LaShure II and his girlfriend, Tonya Hawkes of Hornell, 1 brother, Roland Carol Ausborn III and his special friend, Maureen McNamera of Burnt Hills, NY, 2 grandchildren, John Latona and Ava Jade Rakers-LaShure, as well as several nieces & nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends from 1-4 & 6-8 PM Thursday at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce St., Canisteo where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM, Deacon Robert McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Canisteo. A reception will follow the service at the Canisteo American Legion.



In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Brown & Powers Funeral Home c/o the LaShure family 6 Spruce St Canisteo NY 14823, to be given to the charity of the family's choice.
