Mary Alice Emery Jacobsmeier, 68, of 78 Genesee Street, passed away Thursday (March 29, 2012) at her home.
Born in Hornell, July 15, 1943, the daughter of Shirley and Thelma Myers Emery, she had resided her early years in Hornell, and the past several years in Avon. She was a graduate of Hornell High School, was known as a hard worker and had been employed as a fork lift operator in receiving at Birds-Eye/ Kraft in Avon for 43 1/2 years. Mary had a great love of horses, the outdoors, the paranormal, eating lobster, fishing, birds and especially enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Shirley and Sam. She will be remembered as a very caring and giving person who enjoyed her many friends, and was loved by her family, husband, daughter and grandkids.
She was predeceased by her parents; one brother, Phillip Emery, her mother & father-in-law, Susan and Lambert Jacobsmeier.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Jacobsmeier of Avon, her daughter, Shirley Bottomley of Hornell, 2 sisters, Beverly (Jack) Perry of Binghamton, and Martha Croston of Hornell, her brother, Charles Emery of Hornell, and her best friends J.B. and Gerri Brewer of Avon, 2 grandchildren, Ashley (Larry Fink) Bottomley and Jesse (Caitlyn) Bottomley, 1 great granddaughter, Aryanna Bottomley, her sisters & brothers-in-law, Ann Jacobsmeier of Penn Yan, Carol & Paul Inderbitzen of Philadelphia, Antonette "Tony" and Chet Baron of Canandaigua, Lambert & Judith Jacobsmeier of Honeoye Falls.

The family will be present to receive friends at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo Street, Hornell on Wednesday from 5 PM until 7 PM at which time a Memorial Service will be held with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating.
