Mary Violet Hibler,91, of Maple Court,passed away Wednesday (October11, 2006) at McAuley Manor.



Born in MontrealQuebec Canada , January 24, 1915,the daughter of Samuel and Mary Allan Chestnut, shehad resided in Hornell since 1996. Beforemoving to Hornell she had resided in JohnsonCity, NY, West Paris, Maine,and Lakeland, Florida. On August 28, 1935 she married Edward C Hiblerwho predeceased her in 1994. Mary had been a cook at the Chapel Valley NursingHome for many years in West Paris,Maine. She was well known for herhandiwork, and also her pies and cookies.



She was alsopredeceased by her parents and a brother John Chestnut.



She is survived by hersister Agnes (William ) Chanecka of Binghamton, three daughters Virginia(Nelson) Chamberlin of Hornell; with whom she had made her home for the lastnine years, Georgia (Douglas) Hull of Orlando, and Jean (Richard) Glover, ofMontrose, PA, grandchildren, Charles (Michelle) and Brian (Michele) Chamberlin,Richard (Carol) and Stephen (Christy)Hull, Jason Glover, Debra (Scott) Stonierand Barb (Martin) Darrow, Dawn Canfield, and Richard (Patty) Glover Jr ,eighteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.



A Memorial service will be held Saturday (October 14, 2006) at theUnited Methodist Church of Hornell at 2:00pmwith the Rev. Beth Kottemann officiating. Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Appalachin, NY
