Mary L. Ritenburg, 72, of 20 Beachwood Terrace, passed away Thursday (June 1, 2017) at home.
Born in Hornell, NY, June 9, 1944, the daughter of Albert and Elizabeth Henshaw Eymer, she had resided in the Hornell area her whole life. Mary attended the Hornell Bible Church. She enjoyed reading, swimming and walking; but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and will be most remembered for always showing unconditional love. Mary enjoyed southern gospel music.
She was predeceased by her parents and 2 sisters; Edna Miles and Phyllis McGregor.
She is survived by her husband Gary, to whom she was married on August 17, 1963, 3 sons; Jeff (Sandy) Ritenburg of Canisteo, Mike (Roben) Ritenburg of Hornell and Tim (Karen Allen) Ritenburg of Dansville, 1 daughter; Suzanne (Doug) Dewey of Canisteo, 3 brothers Albert (Sandy) Eymer of Bishopville, Kenneth (Roganna Johnson) Eymer and David (Tammy) Eymer both of Hornell, 1 sister; Betty (Jerry) Sprague, 16 grandchildren, 14 greatgrandchildren (2 more on the way), as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will be present on Tuesday (June 6, 2017) from 2-4PM and 6-8 PM, at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell. Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Wednesday (June 7, 2017) at the funeral home, Pastor Luke Bowman officiating. Burial will be in Hornell Rural Cemetery, Hornell.
