Mary Lou Ranger, 87, of the Turnpike Road, passed away Tuesday (May 31, 2016) at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville, just 8 days after her husband's death.
Born in the Town Of Willing, May 5, 1929, the daughter of Earl and Leona Goodridge Canfield, she had attended school in Wellsville and was a graduate of Whitesville Central School. Mary Lou had resided in Hornell since 1965. She was a member of the former Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Hornell and had served as the church treasurer for several years. Recently she and Curt had attended the Canisteo Wesleyan Church. Curt and Mary Lou enjoyed spending their winters in St. Cloud, Florida.
Mary Lou was employed at CE Air Preheater in Wellsville for 15 years and later at St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell as a lab technician for 7 years.
She was predeceased by her parents, and her husband Curt on May 23, 2016
She is survived by her sisters, Eleanor Canfield Young and Ruth Ann Canfield Tompkins both of Wellsville, several nieces and nephews from Curt's family including, Charles Nicholson, Frank Nicholson, Barb (Ralph) Kalberloh, C. Henry (Sharon) Ranger, Judy (Jay) Isabelle, Carol (Carl D.) Williams, Sandy (Gordie) Hollenbough, James "Skip" (Jill) Lemen and Kevin (Linda) Lemen.

The family will be present to receive friends on Friday, June 3, 2016 from 1 until 2 PM at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell. A joint memorial service honoring Curt and Mary Lou will follow calling hours at 2:00 PM. Rev. Donald Maynard will officiate. Burial will be in Hornell Rural Cemetery.
