Martha went to be with the Lord on Tuesday (September 24, 2013) at Jones Memorial Hospital.
Born in Angelica, July 2, 1926, the daughter of Clarence "Dick" and Hazel (Young) Whittam. She enjoyed crafts, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren. Ms. Gordon had been employed for many years at the former Allegany County Infirmary in Angelica and retired from Friendship Dairies in Friendship, New York. A lifelong resident of Angelica, she moved to Friendship in 1995.
Survivors include her daughter Melody (Dean) Robinson of Richburg, 2 sons Elwyn (Michelle) Gordon, and Mark (Tiffany) Gordon of Angelica, several grandchildren, great grand, and great great grandchildren, a sister in law Glenna Whittam of Olean, several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents and 2 sisters Thelma Whittam Dunmire, and Marjorie Whittam Blakely a brother David Whittam, her son Edward Gordon and daughter Diana M. Gordon.
The family will be present 4-6PM Friday, September 27, 2013, at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 101 West Avenue Angelica, where funeral services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 6:00 PM. Burial will be in Until the Day Dawn Cemetery in Angelica.
