Martha E Nichols, 84, of

56 East Main Street. She entered intopeaceful rest at the home of her daughter Charlotte in Campbell on Friday. She was born Sept. 23, 1923 in Hornellto Raymond and Anna Belle (Drake) Norton. She attended the Hornell schools. Shewas employed at the former Bethesdacommunity hospital from 1973-until is closing in 1986. She also held other jobsthroughout her life, including acting as senior aid for the Green Thumb &Pro Action programs at several area agencies. She enjoyed watching television,family gatherings, shopping and lunch dates with her sisters. Her greatest joywas watching her grandchildren grow. She loved all of her family as she keptmementos of their activities from cards to newspaper clippings. She is survivedby 8 daughters Charlotte (Mike) Seeley of Campbell, Betty Nichols of Hornell,Marjorie (James) Ellis of Hornell, Anna (Edward) Taylor of Corning, Diane(Percy) Shaw of Campbell, Nelda Nichols (Tim) of Mansfield, Laura (William)Galusha of Corning, Jeannette (LeRoy) Burrows of Corning, 1 son John (CarolArmstrong) Nichols of Okanagan WA, grandson Gary (Tara Spake) of Merritt FL,which she helped raise, as well as 22 other grandchildren, 35 greatgrandchildren, 3 sisters Florence (Al) Marcello, Marilyn Cotton of Hornell,Carolyn Norton of FL, and sister in lawLucille Norton of Arkansas.



She was predeceased by her 3 sisters Isabel Houghtaling,Dora Waight, and Ruth Conkey, brothers Harold, Ray, and Paul Norton,granddaughter Kelly Partridge, grandson Edward Taylor Jr great granddaughterTiana Fenstermacher, great grandsons Dustin Burleson and Joshua West, as wellas long time friend Joseph Frantz, as well was the widow of Robert Nichols.



The family will be present 4-6PM Wednesday, at the Robertson Funeral Home,

354 Canisteo St, Hornell,where Funeral services will be held at 6:00PM, with the Rev. Dudley Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in Hornell Rural Cemetery.
