Marjorie G. Evans, 92, of 17 Preston Ave, died Tuesday July 5, 2011.
Born in South Dansville, Aug. 9. 1918, she was the daughter of LaVern and Lena (Hathaway) Acomb.
She was predeceased by her parents and infant daughter Sharon Anne Evans, two sisters, Alyce Hurlburt and Dortha Snell, one brother Franklin Acomb.
She had resided most of her adult life in Hornell. She attended Hornell High School and had been employed by the New York Telephone Company for 30 years. She was a member of the former Hornell Gospel Center now the Hornell Bible Church for over 50 years. She was an avid doll collector and will be remembered for her love of flowers.
She is survived by one son Reginald A. and Rosalie A. (Neu) Evans of Hornell, three grandsons Reginald A. (Vicki) Evans II of Hornell , TSgt Brett A. (Wendy) Evans Sr. of Lincoln De., and Aaron C. (Laura) Evans of Eden NC, Eight great grandchildren Brittanie Rose Evans, Brett A Evans Jr., Ian C. Evans, Elijah J. Evans, Olivia Kathryn Grace Evans, Andrew Flint, Jacob Bailey, and Joshua Bailey. Two great great grandchildren Andrew Flint and Elijah Quick. Two sisters in law, Elaine Acomb and Kathleen Evans and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will be present Thursday July 7, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell. Funeral services will be held on Friday July 8 at 11am at the funeral home, Rev. Tony Ross officiating. Burial will follow in Arkport Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hornell Bible Church, 1 Main St. Hornell NY 14843, the Alzheimer's Association 435 E. Henrietta Rd. Rochester, NY 14620 or the American Cancer Society 1316 College Avenue Elmira, NY 14901.
