Marilyn M. Rahmlow Hawkins, 94, passed away Saturday August 4, 2018 at Hornell Gardens nursing home after an extended illness.
Born in Hornell on May 18, 1924, she was the eighth of eleven children born to the late Frank E. and Eleanor Rahmlow. She was predeceased by her six brothers Donald, Robert, Frank, Richard, William and Raymond Rahmlow and her four sisters Dorothy Andrews, Frances Wizeman, Margaret Rahmlow, and Virginia Wright.
A lifelong resident of Hornell, Marilyn was a graduate of Hornell HighSchool, class of 1942. She was formerly a Blue Bird and Camp Fire Girls leader, was employed as an Associate by F.W Woolworth Company and after her retirement, worked part-time at J.C. Penney Co. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, enjoyed planting and tending her flower garden, and was very fond of her cup of hot tea with a cookie.
Her loving family includes her three daughters Beckie Curtis of Calistoga, CA; Bonnie Hoffman of Houston, TX and Patricia (Michael) Maloney of Lafayette, NY; her 5 grandchildren Christian Curtis, Eleanor Galindo, and Amy Curtis, Amanda Maloney and Thomas (Natalie) Maloney; and her 8 great-grandchildren. Also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
