Marilyn Gordon, 88, of Hornell, passed away Thursday (February 18, 2016) at the Hornell Gardens surrounded by her loving family.



Born in Hornell, NY, September 15, 1927, the daughter of Frank and Harriet Woolever Gordon, she had resided most of her life in Alfred Station and Montour Falls. Marilyn was a CNA at the Schuyler Hospital for many years and was a member of the NRA. She took many courses on gun repair and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and loved her career in nursing



In addition to her parents Marilyn was predeceased her daughter, Donna Spike, adopted daughter Wendy Winters, her siblings, LeRoy Gordon, Edward Gordon, William Gordon, Gladys Prouty, Bessie Gordon, and Isabell Winters.



She is survived by her son-in-law, James Spike of Hornell, six grandchildren, Lindsay (Joseph) Haynes of Hornell, Amber (Kevin) DuBois of Canisteo, Carolin (Michael) Campbell of Hornell, Christina (James) Rawleigh of Hornell, Leonard James (Kim) Spike of Hartsville and James Alan Spike of Nebraska, 14 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren, her siblings, LaVerne Gordon of Hornell, Elsie Jamison of Perry, and Thelma Winters of Alfred Station, several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday (Feb. 27, 2016) at 11AM at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St. Hornell, NY 14843 with Rev. Donald Maynard officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Alfred Station.
