Marie N. King, 97, of
3 Grove Street, Monday (April 24, 2006) at St. James Hospital.
Born in Horseheads, December 14, 1908, the daughter of OrenC. and Myrtle F Nutter, she had been a lifelong area resident. On June 24, 1929 she marriedJohn G. King formerly of Westfield,PA who predeceased her on Mar. 1, 1981. Marie was agraduate of Hornell High School and Geneseo State University.She had taught 20 years in the Canisteo and Arkport Central Schools. She was a memberof the Steuben County and NYS Retired Teachers Assoc.,member and former Elder, trustee, S.S. teacher, Cradle-Roll Superintendent, andCircle II Choir of the Arkport Presbyterian Church, and a life member ofHornell-Dansville Amaranth for over 50 years. Marie enjoyed crafts, puzzles,books and traveling. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for many years,and a former member of the Arkport Senior Citizens.
She was predeceased byher parents, her husband and a brother Paul F.Nutter.
She is survived by 3children Helen (William) Beveridge, Myrtle (Relf) Crisey PHD, and Paul ( Elizabeth) King, 8grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren.
Friends are invited to Marie's Funeral Service Saturday (April 29, 2006) 11:00am at the Arkport PresbyterianChurch, with the Rev. Steven Jewell and Rev. David Barnard officiating. Burialwill be at the Arkport Cemetery.
Friends may make memorial contributions to: ArkportPresbyterian Church or the Arkport Village Book Center.
