Margaret M. "Marge" Stewart, 71, of
6349 Honey Run Road, passed away Saturday(April 4, 2009) ather home following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Rochester,August 25, 1937,the daughter of George and Lois Lenhart Mathis, she was a graduate of Mercy High Schoolin Rochesterand moved to Hornell shortly after her graduation. She was employed for many years as a patientcare assistant at the Hornell Gardens. She was a memberof Our Lady Of The Valley Parish, and a communicant of the former St. Ignatius Loyola Church in Hornell . Marge was amember of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus and an avid "MetsFan". OnMay 24, 1958,she married Richard Gary Stewart whopredeceased her on March 18,2003.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and herson, Daniel Stewart on September11, 2002.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Shelly Mullen of Arkport,and Sandy (Tom) Dean of Virginia, one son, David (Christine) Stewart ofHornell, Her sister, Sr. Ann Marie Mathis RSM of Chile, her brother, George(Janet) Mathis of Rochester, 4 special nieces, Kelly. Laurie, Michelle, andDonna, 5 Grandchildren, Christopher Dean, Matthew Dean, Nicholas Dean, MichaelRoberts and Tristan Stewart.
The family will observe a private visitation and service atthe Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home,
354 Canisteo Street in Hornell. Friendswishing, may visit the family anytime Monday Afternoon at the family residenceon Honey Run Road.
