Margaret A. Penna, 90, formerly of Cleveland Avenue in North Hornell and Glen Avenue in Alfred, passed away Sunday (July 19, 2015) at the Steuben Center in Bath.
Born in Canisteo, NY, March 9, 1925, the daughter of Samuel and Margaret Lavery Dineen, she had resided in Canisteo during her early life where she was a graduate of Canisteo Central School. She later resided in Rochester for several years, and in Florida for 20 years before returning the Hornell area.
Margaret was employed as a private duty nurses aide while in Florida and later as a receptionist at the Office For The Aging in Hornell.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Daniel F. Penna in 1995, an infant sister. Mary Dineen, her sister, Rosemary Dineen, brother and sister- in law, Bernard and Norma Dineen, her brother, Samuel "Jim" Dineen as well as her nephew Dillen McCormick.
She is survived by her sons, Daniel (Tanya) Penna of Fairport, and James Penna and his son, James of Greece, NY, her sister, Elizabeth (Burr) Ripley of Itheca, and her brothers, Jack (Joyce) Dineen of Howard and Thomas Dineen of Canisteo and several nieces and nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo Street in Hornell on Friday from 1 PM until 2 PM followed by burial at St Mary's Cemetery, Town of Fremont.
