7111 North Main St.Ext, passed away Saturday (August23, 2008) in Whiteville,N.C.
Born in Rochester,September 2, 1927,the daughter of Jim and Dorothy ( Wilson)VanGelder, she had resided in Hornell most of herlife. She had made her home with BonnieDibble VanScooter for 38 years. She was a graduate ofthe Rochester School for the Deaf class of 1948. Shewas a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hornell American Legion, the VFW and loved her family, the beach, shopping,puzzles, traveling and dogs.
She was predeceased by her parents as well as her husbandEarl Davison in 1970, a set of twins, one brother; Jim Rickolt,two sisters; Vicki Masonbacher and Jeanette VanGelder.
She is survived by one son; Bruce (BevKellogg) Davison of Arkport, One daughter Vicki Davison-Mastinof Whiteville N. C., foster daughter Bonnie (Rodney) VanScooterof Hornell, her special children, Linda Leader of Florida , Jon Norton of Maryland , Lisa (Paul) Hoadof Bath, Tina (Marty) Simpson of Bath and Shawn Mastinof North Carolina, several grandchildren and one great grandson,Ayden.
The family will be present to receive friends from 1PM-4PMWednesday at the Bender - Brown &Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell Where f uneralservices will follow calling hours at 4PM with Deacon Robert McCormickofficiating. Burial will be in Hornell Rural Cemetery.Following services, a reception will be held at the Hornell VFW.
