The family of Margaret K. Butler of Alfred, sadly announceher passing on June 1, 2007. Her husband of 59 years was at her side whenshe lost her 5 year struggle against cancer.
Born in Oneida,NY, September 15, 1927, the daughter of Roy Lee Kelley and Florence Louise VanValkenburgh Kelley,she leaves her husband Lewis, sons, Lewis of Florida, Andrew of New York City,Charles of Alfred and her daughter, Elizabeth Shaughnessyof North Carolinaas well as four grandchildren.
Her life's activities in addition to wife and mother,included Alfred Amandine Club, teaching, Elder hostel Program Director andhappy participation in many activities of the Union University Church. She especially valued the friendships formedin those community efforts.
A private service was held on June 4, 2007 guided by the Rev. Laurie DeMott of Alfred, at the Robertson Funeral Home,
354 Canisteo Street,Hornell.
