Mabel E. Dickey,105, formerly of
Canisteo Street, passed away Monday (March 28, 2005) at the Hornell Gardens.
Born in Avoca, May 15, 1899, the daughter of Silas B. and ManerahNylon Brownson,she had resided in Hornell most all her life. She was later adopted by John and HarrietBean of Hornell. Mabel will be remembered for her love of flowers, and assistedher husband in growing a variety of flowers at their home. She was employed as a short order cook forseveral years at the former Big Elms Restaurant in Hornell.
She was predeceased byher husband, Oren Dickey , her son EdwardDickey, and 2 brothers.
She is survived by asister-in-law, Dorothy Eickelberger of Florida,as well as several nieces & nephews.
The family will be present to receive friends from 1-2pmWednesday at the Bender-Brown & PowersFuneral Home,
354 Canisteo St., Hornell where funeral services will followingcalling hours at 2 :00 PM. Burial will be in Hornell Rural Cemetery.
Friends may make memorial contributions to the charity oftheir choice.
