M. Roberta Drake, 80, of 92 Bennett Street, passed away Sunday (June 4, 2017) at her home.
Born in Hornell, June 5, 1936, the daughter of Francis and Iva (Paige) Sheon, she was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Hornell High School. She was retired from the cafeteria at Hornell High School, where she was referred to as the "Snack Lady". Roberta had also attended the Hornell Free Methodist Church.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband William S. Drake III in 2011, whom she married on May 5,1956, she was also predeceased by her daughter Sheri Moulton in 2010, her son in law Jeffery Kelling in 2013, and her sister Virginia Hann.
She is survived by her daughter Dawn Drake Kelling of Hornell, 2 sons William Drake of Avoca, Francis Drake of CT, a sister AddieLou Racalto of Bath, 16 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.
The family will be present 1-3 & 5-7 PM Thursday, June 8, 2017, at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo Street in Hornell, where funeral services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at7:00 PM, with the Rev. Alan Bliss officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Almond.
