M. Eileen Mitchell, 80, of
69 Scott Street, passed away Tuesday evening (May 8, 2007) at St. James Hospital.
Born in Hornell, March 18, 1927, thedaughter of Donald and Florence Swan Witherow,she had resided in Floridafor several years where she was employed as a secretary for EasternAirlines. Eileen returned to Hornell in1973. She was a graduate of Hornell High School, Class of 1944, and theBryant & Stratton Business Institute in Buffalo. After returning to Hornell, she wasemployed for 10 years at Connors Pharmacy.She had been a director of the Thrift Shop at Christ Episcopal Church,was a member of the Almond Historical Society, and enjoyed doing volunteerwork.
She was predeceased by her twin daughters in 1967, and hersister, Elizabeth Booth in 1995.
She is survived by one sister, Catherine (James) Connors ofHornell, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
