Louise A Camp, 88 of 77 Cedar Street, passed away Saturday (February 27, 2010) at Bradford Regional Hospital.
Born in Limestone, August 2, 1921, the daughter of Joseph and Antoinette Naples Yannie, she had resided in Hornell most of her life. Louise had worked for the former Hickey Freeman Company. Following the death of her husband she attended St James School of Nursing and completed her RN in 1975 retiring in 1997 from Bethesda Hospital and Mercy Care. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Hornell, where she had taught Sunday School for 35 years, was Lay Leader, and participated in the Women's Society.
She was predeceased by her husband Anthony J Camp in 1972, her son John Camp in 2003, a sister Lucy White, and brother Paul Yannie.
She is survived by 2 daughters Elizabeth (Paul) King of Cincinnati, Joanna (Edmund) Hofmann of Queens, a son Thomas (Toni) Camp of Spring, TX , 4 sisters Mary Mitchell of Coudersport, Leona Shaver of Bath, Josephine (Paul) Corey of Coudersport, Ann (Robert) Long of Coudersport, a brother Larry (Beth) Yannie of Charlotte, NC, 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
The family will be present 2-4 & 7-9PM Thursday, at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell. Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church Of Hornell on Friday, at 11:00 AM, with Terry Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery.
